How does the Website Work?

The Website offers anonymous visitors the ability to learn about Church of the Open Door, our ministries, services and programs for people of all ages.

By using the Website, you consent to the collection and use of your information by Church of the Open Door as described herein. Church of the Open Door reserves the right to change how we handle the information we collect through the Website at any time.

We will update this Privacy Policy to reflect any changes in our privacy collection and handling practices, and such changes will take effect immediately once posted to the Website.

What type of personally identifiable information does Church of the Open Door collect from you and how do we use it?

If you register for certain events or programs like Awana Clubs, adult or youth retreats, etc., you must provide certain personally identifiable information (“PII”) to Church of the Open Door to register and participate in these.

Such PII includes basic biographical information, such as your name, phone number, and email address. In the case of Awana or youth group registrations, we may also ask you for specific health-related information in order to ensure the safety and well-being of your children. For survey polling, we may also ask you for general statistical information about yourself and your interests.

In addition, we use cookies that collect information about your computer and web browsing habits on cod.org so we can understand visitors’ content and preferences.

 

How will we use your personally identifiable information?

Church of the Open Door may provide your PII to internal leadership teams who work on behalf of our ministries. These entities may use your PII to help fulfill your requests in connection with the Website and to help us communicate with you about different resources offered as part of the Website.

Under no circumstances does Church of the Open Door sell or rent your PII to anyone for any reason.

Under what circumstances may we release PII?

Church of the Open Door may provide links to other websites or resources of possible interest to you. Because we have no control over such websites or resources, the collection and use of your PII and other information by such websites shall be subject to the policies and procedures of such websites and not this Privacy Policy.

What are our policies regarding children?

Church of the Open Door does not knowingly collect PII from anyone under thirteen (13) years of age.

Is providing PII mandatory to use this Website?

Providing personally identifiable information is not mandatory to view articles or other information on the Website. However, entering your PII is necessary to register for certain events, programs and ministry-related activities, or to comment on the content on the Website.

Do we have a mechanism to address the removal of PII and complaints about the handling of information that we collect?

If you wish to remove PII that you have submitted to Church of the Open Door, please send us an email requesting such removal to churchadmin@codpa.net.

Photography and Media Use Policy

Photographs of worship serices and church events bring our website and social media to life, providing a window into the vitality and friendliness of the body at Church of the Open Door.

When you enter a worship service or church-sponsored event, you will be entering an area where photography, video and audio recording may occur. By participating in these events, you consent to photography or video recording being used in Church of the Open Door marketing materials, including but not limited to: websites, social media, emails, advertisements, etc.

Our photographers and staff will aspire to abide by the following: We will not tag anyone in social media posts, but instead allow our congregants, staff and visitors to tag themselves as they see fit on pages managed by Church of the Open Door.

We will gladly remove any photo or video upon written request from our website, social media and resource files.

If you or your children wish to not be photographed or appear in our publications or online media, please email us at office@codpa.net and provide the name of those who should not be photographed and include a photograph of said persons for reference, if possible. Church of the Open Door will use the photo for identification purposes only and will hold it in confidence.

By participating in Church of the Open Door worship or events or by failing to notify Church of the Open Door of your desire to not have your image used, you are agreeing to release Church of the Open Door from any and all claims involving the use of your picture or likeness.
